Günter Schormann GmbH
Schormann is an owner-managed medium-sized company specializing in mechanical engineering in the energy sector. We produce essential components such as axial fans, heavy rail rollers, bogies, and high-precision shielding packages that significantly contribute to the efficiency, safety, and longevity of large transformers.
Foundation
In 1948, following his displacement from East Prussia, Günter Schormann founded a trading company for machinery, tools, and industrial supplies in Burscheid.
With steady growth, in-house production was added in 1954. Just a few years later, the positive development made it necessary to construct a larger production hall with office facilities, which was completed and occupied in 1961 on Griesberger Street. This marked an important milestone in the further development of the company.

Specialization
In the following decades, Schormann continued to grow steadily. Driven by a strong commitment to quality, reliability, and innovation, as well as the flexibility of a medium-sized enterprise, the product portfolio was gradually focused on components for large power transformers.
While the early years were centered on fittings, running gears, and ventilation elements, the company increasingly specialized in high-quality fans, guide rollers, throttle valves, and shielding packages.

Expansion
With the construction of a second production hall in 1980, manufacturing capacity was significantly increased. At the same time, Schormann consistently expanded its market presence both regionally and internationally.
The company established itself as a premium supplier for the large transformer industry, distinguished by fast and customized deliveries, close customer relations, and an exceptional level of service and support.
This success was built on continuity, innovation, high production standards, and the dedication of qualified employees, laying the foundation for the company’s further development.

Advancement
From 2016 onward, the focus shifted increasingly to technological progress and the structural strengthening of the company. Optimized processes and expanded production capacities created a stable basis for further growth. Between 2020 and 2024, business development was influenced by external factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the Suez Canal crisis, and the war in Ukraine, which led to severe global supply bottlenecks, particularly in steel imports.
Thanks to forward-looking management, stable supplier relationships, and countercyclical material stockpiling, the company was able not only to maintain but also to expand its market position. During this period, significant investments were also made, including the construction of a third production hall in 2022 and a new office building in 2024.
